Now that I have a flatbed scanner going, I will reproduce the photographs in the catalog shortly (no more excuses).

11 BROADWAY, NEW YORK
113 {I-R logo} DIESEL LOCOMOTIVES IN SERVICE
The first successful Diesel engine for loco-
motive service in the U.S.A. was developed
by the Ingersoll-Rand Company in 1923,
and the first locomotive sold was to the
Central R. R. of NJ in 1925.
To date a total of 113 locomotives powered
by Ingersoll-Rand Diesel engines have been
sold. Each and every one of these locomotives
is operating today.
It is the outstanding success of these loco-
motives in economy and reliability over a
period of ten years of actual service that has
made the Diesel-Eelectric locomotive a gener-
ally accepted type of railroad motive power.
the 113 Ingersoll-Rand
Diesel-Electric locomo-
tives in operation today.
These engines have been
in operation for an average
period of 5 years and 9
months. The oldest has been
in operation for 10 years
and 3 months; the newest has
just been placed in service.
